Fly a radial or bearing to/from a VOR or NDB
In FSXPilot, flying radials or bearings to or from a VOR or NDB works a bit different than in real life.
In FSXPilot, usually and for the sake of simplicity selecting a VOR or NDB and pressing the NAV button results in a direct turn of the aircraft towards the VOR or NDB.
But you can easily fly a radial or bearing to / from a VOR or NDB by using the following
Method:
select the VOR or NDB but do not press the NAV button.
observe the VOR or NDB on the EFIS
see the reticule around the target
note the course indicator through the reticule
adjust the course setting in a way that it reflects the radial or bearing that you intend to fly
press the HDG button
stay on current heading until shortly before your aircraft heading intersects the radial or bearing on the EFIS
if a "to" (inbound) bearing is intended:
enter the intended to bearing into the heading input field
the aircraft will turn towards the target and approach the target using the "to" bearing.
if a "from" (outbound) bearing is intended:
enter the intended from bearing into the heading input field
the aircraft will turn into the "from" bearing
